The Multiple District 39 Convention is May 20-22, 2011, at Sun Valley, Idaho. This year's convention theme is "Traditions". The keynote speaker will be International Director Yamandu P. Acosta. Lions Clubs are invited to submit their club traditions for inclusion in the convention program.

MD 39 Election
Election of Council Chair
PDG Laura Walls is on the ballot for Council Chair for 2011-2012.
Idaho Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation Election
The Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation Trustee Elections will be held at the Sun Valley MD 39 Convention. The following geographical representative trustee positions are up for election. In District 39W:
Region 1, representing Council, Cascade, Payette, Midvale, Weiser, Payette Syringa, Fruitland, Ontario, Parma, Marsing, Homedale, Adrian, Vale, Vallivue, and Middleton
Two 3-year terms, currently held by Lions Lois Sutton, and John Dickinson
Region 2, representing Boise Bench, Mountain Home, Grand View, Boise Vista, Boise Capital, Idaho City, Boise Special Olympics, Emmett, Emmett Gem, Meridian Noon, Nampa Boise Host, Star, Boise Riverside, Meridian, Kuna, Boise Sunset, Eagle, and Caldwell
One 3-year term currently held by Lion Linda Clemenger
One 1-year term currently held by PDG Sandy Oswald
Trustees represent their particular region and are assigned specific Lions Clubs depending on location. If you would like to run for one of these positions and have any questions about the duties of the Trustees, please contact Curt Kelley at 208-859-3642 or view the job description. PDG Sand Oswald is the Elections Chair for 39W and in order to be on the ballot, you need to file at least 30 days prior to the election. PDG Sandy can be reached at 208-453-2134.
In addition to the trustee positions, changes to the by-laws will be considered. Please read the proposed changes, including the five new job/skill specific trustee positions that would be nominated by a committee formed from the elected trustees.
