The Boise Bench Lions presented three Melvin Jones Awards to Lions Bruce Newcomb, Curt Kelley, Louie Pfleger, and 39W presented a Melvin Jones to Lion Lee Barton for his support of LCIF Relief Fund after Hurricane Katrina, and his efforts on behalf of the Bench Lions over previous years of service. Life Member was awarded to Lion Robert Schoeler. A Hallock-Weyman Award was presented to Lion Edwin Marshall. Lion of the Year Award was presented to Lion Stevie Packard for all her hard work on the board and continuing club projects and eyeglass recycling and screening. We added three new members over March and April. $1,000.00 was allocated to help Lion Henry Cardinale get started with the club Diabetes project. More information on this project will be made available to other clubs in 39W over the next few months. Lion new member Edwin Marshall completed attendance at Lion's International Emerging Lions Program. Boise Bench celebrated our 55th annual Charter Party on 4-22-06. Annual Bench Lions Picnic will be held August 16, 2006 at Julia Davis Park you are invited to attend if you let us know you are coming.
