New Members LIC 2006-07 Dues

Article VIII, Section l, of the International Constitution and By-laws reads as follows:  “In the manner and within the time prescribed by the International Board of Directors each club shall report to the international office of this association, the names of all new members elected, and shall remit therewith such entrance fee for each new member as shall be determined by the International Board of Directors.”  By directive of the International Board, the entrance fee for new members shall be US$25.

International per capita on a new member begins the first of the month in which the member enters your club.  It is pro-rated at US$3.21 per month for the remaining months in the semi-annual period, plus US$.25 for the International Convention Fund, which is not pro-rated.

As an illustration, let us assume that a new member is taken into a Lions club in August.  When the report showing the member’s admission is received in the International Office, the Association bills the US$25 entrance fee, the pro-rated dues and the pro-rated magazine fee of August 1^st at US$3.21 per month, which amounts to US$16.05, *plus the US$.25 International Convention fund fee, for a total of US$41.30.  At the beginning of January 2006, the regular semi-annual per capita of US$19.50 is applicable.

The following is a schedule of the International per capita billed on the new members taken into a club at various times throughout the year:

 CHARTER MEMBERS

The charter fee for membership in all new clubs is US$30.  The charter fee for members transferring from an active Lions club to a new club is US$20.  International per capita dues, pro-rated on the above schedule, begin on the first of the month following the month the charter member joins the new club.
