The Lions Clubs International Photo Contest is a chance to show off your outdoor photography and pride in protecting the environment. Contest entries progress from club level contests through the district, multiple district, and international levels. Photos can be entered in the following categories: animal life, plant life, urban or natural landscape, weather phenomenon, and special theme, a dream for a healthy environment. Photos from the Multiple Districts are due at the International office March 1, 2017.
The topic of the 2017 Patriotism Essay Contest, held annually in Multiple District 39, is "What Makes America Great?"
The essay contest is open to elementary school students in grades 1-6 within the boundaries of Multiple District 39. Lions introduce the contests in the schools in their community typically in January or February. Club members select winning essays to submit to the District contest. District contest winners at each grade level advance to the Multiple District contest. Multiple District winners have the opportunity to read their essays at the MD convention in Sun Valley in May.
Entries must include the cover sheet which lists the contest rules. Deadline to return the winning essays to the District is March 15.
For more information, contact District Governor Dennis.
Each year, Lions around Idaho and the world sponsor the Lions International Peace Poster Contest in their local schools or youth organizations. The contest encourages youth to express their vision of peace in an original poster. Artists can use various media to complete their work, and the contest is open to students ages 11,12, and 13.
The theme for the 2017-18 Peace Poster Contest is "The Future of Peace".
More information about the contest can be found on the Lions Clubs International website. The complete guidelines and rules for the contest are also available. Kits are available to purchase from January 15 until October 1. Deadline to enter is November 15.
